The aim of the project

to improve the international competitiveness of RTA study programs, to ensure and strengthen efficient use and sharing of available resources, to reduce fragmentation of study programs by consolidating current study programs and creating new academic bachelor study program "Business Management" and new joint doctoral study program "Laser Technologies".

About the project

within the framework of the project, it is planned to improve the quality, competitiveness, and export capacity of RTA study programs by consolidating and developing the current study programs of the Faculty of Economics and Management, i.e. closing 3 academic Bachelor study programs in the study direction "Management, administration and real estate management" and, on their base, creating new academic Bachelor study program "Business Management" including modules Hospitality Management (strategic partner – UtenaUniversity of Applied Sciences, Lithuania), Innovation and technology management, Production logistics in Latvian and English. While in the Faculty of Engineering, it is planned to develop a joint doctoral study program "Laser Technologies" in partnership with the "Angel Kanchev" University of Ruse, Bulgaria. The purpose of creating the joint doctoral study program and study programs in the EU languages (except Latvian) is to promote the competitiveness, internationalization and export capacity of Latvian higher education.

The activities planned in the project

acquisition of the best local and foreign experience, development of the conceptual curriculum and syllabus for the new study programs, licensing and testing of the programs along with comprehensive evaluation of the results, accreditation of the corresponding study directions, as well as continuous and diverse public communication program on the benefits of new study programs, the development process and results will allow to effectively contribute to solving the existing problems in the system of higher education in Latvia and to achieve the main goal of the project – to reduce the fragmentation of RTA study programs and to strengthen resource sharing.

The planned results of the project

development and licensing of new joint doctoral program "Laser Technologies" and new academic Bachelor study program "Business Management", testing of the created study programs, and analysis of the testing results, EQAR  accreditation of the study directions "Management, administration and real estate management" and "Mechanics and metalworking, heat power industry, heat engineering and mechanical engineering", implementation of publicity measures for promotion of the new bachelor study program and joint doctoral study program  in accordance with the project's communication and publicity plan, as well as ensuring project management and implementation of the project.
