Autism Inclusion in Distance Learning

Project goal: This project aims to train social educators and support teachers on how to manage communication with autistic children.

Project annotation and main tasks: ASD-IncluDi aims to create a tangible, innovative and easily integrated training system that will enable special needs educators to embrace distance learning (DL) and effectively use it in accessible and inclusive education for students with ASD, optimize their teaching workflow, and keep up with the dynamically changing educational needs of children with special needs.

Project results: The main outcome of ASD-Inclusi is the accessibility and inclusion of students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in distance learning (DL) formats.

- A training system with rules, methodologies, applications and general guidelines for the use of specific selected ICT and IoT technologies, such as social robots, in the education of children and young people with special needs.

- Training courses that will allow special needs educators to understand the use of ICT and IoT technologies based on the distance learning requirements of the Training Plan.

- Development of a scheme to be used for a personalized learning path that will be offered using the training tool.

- Delivery of training courses.

- Policy and pedagogical recommendations to convey the messages of the inclusive education project to policymakers and stakeholders with an appropriate pedagogical approach.
