This project of the Baltic-German University Liaison Office is supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funds from the Foreign Office of the Federal Republic Germany
The common goal of the project is to investigate the effects of social and structural change on municipalities in Germany and the Baltic States in a transfer-oriented and interdisciplinary way, to establish a transnational network of science and innovation in order to prepare proposals (an application strategy) in suitable EU research programmes solving urgent municipal challenges. The broader topic of the proposed project is intended to demonstrate its usefulness for education, business and administration. The title also points out that the great diversity and very different structures in these regions mean that there can be no uniform answer to the stated challenges.
Presentation, comparative analysis of the current research activities on the CliMBinG topic in the Baltic States, Germany (Saxony-Anhalt).
Presentation of road maps for the development of regional/municipal infrastructures and services in the field of tourism, digitization/security, sustainable management in the Baltic States to address current structural/social challenges.
Providing practice-oriented knowledge for regional/local/municipal stakeholders, promoting the direct implementation of the knowledge to be acquired.
Analysing the possibilities of “good and best practices” implementation/dissemination.
Formation of consortia for joint applications in EU research programmes and to increase the impact of the EU challenge-based research approach.
Analysis of funding opportunities, preparation of an application strategy for identified potential funding programmes.
Increasing the mobility and flexibility of research staff.
Promoting intercultural competences of the researchers involved in the project.
Providing theoretical/practical and methodological knowledge for students.
Development of teaching materials for study programmes, further training courses for municipal actors.
