On 9 June, U-Multirank 2020 results have been published. In the multi-dimensional and international ranking of higher education institutions, which compares university performance across teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation and regional engagement, Rezekne Academy of Technologies (RTA) is again among the global top 25 universities.

In 2020, U-Multirank includes 20 higher education institutions from Latvia and RTA has the second highest number of top positions (‘A’ scores). According to U-Multirank data, Rezekne Academy of Technologies is strongest in International Orientation and has very good results in the dimension Regional Engagement.

Rezekne Academy of Technologies, which is the sixth largest state founded higher education institution in Latvia, employs knowledgeable and highly qualified academic staff more than 60% of whom hold doctorates. The Academy has one of the best technical facilities in the republic. Students have the opportunity to perform laboratory work in modern laboratories with high-class equipment, work in the chosen field of science, and participate in competitions in Latvia and abroad. Three faculties of RTA offer a wide range of programmes at three levels – bachelor`s, master`s and doctoral. More than 1700 students from all over Latvia, Europe, and other countries of the world study here.

RTA has been the participant of the ERASMUS+ programme for several years, thus, providing students with internships and studies outside Latvia. Deputy Rector for Cooperation and Development, Assoc. Professor Gunārs Strods notes that students of RTA have great opportunities to study at European higher education institutions and gain valuable experience at the world`s leading companies.

Extracurricular activities are an integral and important part of student life. Every RTA student has the opportunity to get involved in student self-government, sing in the mixed choir "Sonitum", dance in the dance group "Dziga", become a member of the drama group "ķerRA", as well as engage in different sports.

This autumn, a modern student hostel with cosy 49 double and 12 quadruple rooms will open its doors to RTA students. Considering the needs of students, each room has a work area according to the number of students in the room, so everyone will be able to study in appropriate conditions. It was also beared in mind that students need physical activities, therefore two sports rooms will be available in the basement of the building: an aerobics room and gym. Social events are an important part of student life; therefore, a special lounge with a built-in kitchen area, which can be easily hidden behind the sliding doors, has been designed in the building. The building of the hostel is fully adapted for disabled persons – there are special rooms with appropriate doors, bathrooms, etc., as well as an elevator and three special lifts in the building.

Rezekne Academy of Technologies - it is a continuous development, accessible, competitive high-quality higher education aimed at training professionals and analysts necessary for economic growth and development of innovative, environmentally friendly technologies.
